Community
We offer many ways to stay informed and engaged while building connections with other parents.
Westside Waldorf School's Community Association offers opportunities for parents, students, caregivers, faculty, administration, alumni, and extended family to participate in the healthy social life of our school. School festivals and celebrations, for example, rely heavily on volunteers. Parent enrichment workshops build skills and knowledge and offer support to families at different stages in their Waldorf journeys.
Please join us in cultivating a community that values a lifelong love of learning and imbues our children with the ability to navigate and influence their worlds with integrity and ingenuity.
Education & Enrichment Programs
Westside Waldorf School’s education and speaker series give all members of our community an opportunity to grow, learn, and connect. With each meeting we seek to expand our understanding of our children, our community, and ourselves.
A healthy social life is found only when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living.
— Rudolf Steiner
Volunteer Opportunities
Parent involvement is one of the best predictors of student success. When parents participate in school events and activities, children feel more connected to their teachers and fellow students, are more motivated, and do better academically. Research supports an increase in positive behaviors, and families report a more enjoyable education experience.
Because parent involvement is so important, we ask that families commit to volunteer at the school or at one of our many events.
There is an annual service requirement expected for each family. Please reach out directly to the Class Liaisons to find out about specific volunteer opportunities.
Never doubt that a thoughtful committed group of citizens can change the world. Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.
— Margaret Mead
